What was the letter I received in the mail about?
Effective January 1, 2019, your Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield Blue PPO plan has changed names.
Please note, other than changing the Plan Sponsor’s name and contact information, nothing else has changed in terms of your coverage.
Your coverage will now be offered through Independence Administrators (IA).
New website for Independence Administrators is: www.MyIBXTPABenefits.com
New phone number for billing questions will be: 1-833-242-3330
You can download the new Independence Administrators app. Search “myIBXTPABenefits” in your app store or click the links below.
Should I have receive new insurance cards?
Yes, you should have received a new card in the mail prior to January 1, 2019 with a new Identification Number and the new Plan Name to give to your providers for any services after that date. Please destroy your old Horizon Blue Cross card and begin using the Independence Administrators Card for all medical services.
You will receive a card for yourself and one for every eligible family member on file. Please note, these cards may come in different envelopes.
There is nothing you need to do to be enrolled in the plan, this will happen automatically.
